So stay tuned for a lot of fresh fashion from Berlin!

MBFWB s/s 2013 opening: Escada Sport

Escada Sport EscadaSport Escada Sport Escada Sport Escada Sport Escada Sport Escada Sport Escada Sport had the pleasure to do the opening show for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin spring/summer 2013. Whilst loud samba beats made the audience feel like relaxing on the beach and sipping cool coconut milk, the models breezed in with sporty loose pants, maxi skirts, chic floppy hats and braided hairstyles. The warm colour palette, especially the peach and pink, remembered to sorbet, blossoms, Malta, Rio - some mint was eye-popping. By the way: the mint dress is my personal favourite!

Lena Hoschek: Somewhere in México

Lena Hoschek The Piñatas over the catwalk made us guess already that the spring/summer 2013 show from the austrian designer Lena Hoschek was bristled with mexican and folkloristic flavour. Lena Hoschek Lena Hoschek Lena Hoschek Lena Hoschek Lena Hoschek

"Burn the witch, burn the witch" it's whizzing...and the horror show begins. The stomping sound of the "Queens of the Stoneage's" "No one knows" is introducing the show. Folkloristic details, embroidery and sharp contrast - lovely ruffles are competing with stitched guns - are the main themes of the collection. Black and white, blood red, and hot mexican colour-mixes are predominantly. The rough make up of the models remembers to skulls. The masquerade refers to the "Dia de los Muertos" ("Day of the Death") celebrated in Mexico at November 2. On top Lena Hoschek appears with an affixed moustache. Great show - loved it!

 MBFWB s/s 2013: Dimitri

Dimitri strong colours - sexy - tough accessories - turbans - greek-goddess - feminine - lemon - spikes - cool - chiffon - legs Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri The vision of Dimitri's collection is a sexy summer 2013: strong colours for strong women! Turbans and greek-goddess-details - Dimitri himself is demi-greek - are the outstanding elements of the collection. Key-colours are lemon, spicy yellow, red, black, cooled down with some creme-white. My personal highlights are the killer high heels with golden spikes, the colour lemon and the turbans.

Besides the main event at the Mercedes-Benz tent where the runway shows took place, Berlin showed off many important trade shows. One of them was the Premium with nearly 600 brands and designers presenting the new trends for summer 2013. It was an inspiring atmosphere with many nice people to chat. My personal highlights were the fringe bags, pastel and coloured denims, embellishments and creative shoe-designs. One of my favourite discoveries was the brand Glaw from Berlin - many key trend-pieces very wearable. Thanks to the Premium and looking forward to next season!

MBFWB s/s13: Conceptual design at Rebekka Ruétz

"METAMORPHOSIS...und was am Ende übrig bleibt" is the theme of Rebekka Ruétz spring/summer 2013 collection. The design is following a clear concept: she uses material mixes with lace and modern refined materials, heavy brown leather for the belts and a colour palette ranging from all shades of yellow to grey, blue and creme-white. The temporary hourglass-silhouettes are created by styling maxi skirts with broad waisted belts. The hairstyles of the models were artfully braided which was also a subject at the Escada Sport show - a trend that will last for the following seasons.
